Robin Hill

Get hands-on with nature every Friday in August at Robin Hill!

Really Wild Fridays

If you love nature and the great outdoors you’ll love our fun & free Wild Friday activities all day around the countryside and woods of Robin Hill and on our Really Wild stage. All ages are welcome to come and join in and really get in touch with the animals, insects, plants and trees of the park with our friends from the Island 2000 Trust, who know everything there is to know about nature on the Isle of Wight! There are also art and craft activities undercover all day on our stage...so make the most of your free return visit and come back and join in the fun!

Meet outside our top cafe for the following activities...be early as group sizes might have to be limited!

10.45am: Really Wild Survival

Learn how to make a fire, build a shelter and survive if you get lost in the wilderness! Great fun for the budding Ray Mears’ amongst you!

12pm: Really Wild Butterflies & Mini Beasts

Explore the far flung corners of Robin Hill to track down, capture and identify the amazing insects of our wild habitats. We’ll take them back to the stage and have a closer look under a special digital microscope. How many will you find?

 2pm:  Really Wild Woodlands

A guided walk to  find out about Robin Hill’s trees and wild flowers...and there are some rare ones too, like our Wild Service tree one of the rarest species in the UK...plus hopefully some beautiful orchids. We’ll create some unique wild art as we go, with colour charts and sticky boards.

3.30pm: Red Squirrel Safari

Find out about our endangered Red squirrels...and the battle to keep Grey Squirrels off the Isle of Wight to save the reds...keep your eyes peeled and go hunting with our experts to see if you can see one!

Plus join in all these great activities on our Really Wild stage in the lower field, from 10.30am until 4.30pm...its undercover too, so come rain or shine you’ll have a great time!

Really Wild Animal Art

Learn how to draw & paint the wild animals and insects of Robin Hill.....in a really big way! Help make a massive work of art you can see from the air!
